Nightmares

When I was little, I had 2 very scary nightmares. I'll never forget them. They happened over and over again...when ever I would get my migraines.

One nightmare took place in my church. Yeah I know. Sound kind of like an unusual setting for a nightmare, but you see my sister's Girl Scout troop had a haunted house in the church basement once, and I think that's why I started having this nightmare. I don't think I actually made it too far in the haunted house because I can only remember the witch who tried to serve me blood (tomato juice).

It was pitch black. I was on the stage of the church. Each side of the stage had a door. One lead to a classroom, the other to a flight of stairs. I remember trying to run away from these robot creatures to find my mom, but every time I tried they would trap me on the stage and I couldn't get to her.

Do you remember the video game "Dig Dug"? Well my 2nd nightmare was based on that game. We went every once in awhile to the WC Franks in town and played video games and Dig Dug was one of my favorites, but not in this nightmare.

Take the game "Dig Dug" and cross it with horse racing and some evil gangsters, and you've got my nightmare. You see my mom was racing Dig Dug style and if she lost, the bad guys were going to kill her. I was sitting in the stands and the bad guys were right behind me. The race kept happening over and over and over again. My mom was always loosing. Really all I could see were these straight bright white lines across the blackness of my eyelids.

When ever I would have a migraine I would have these nightmares as I slept on the top bunk in my brother's bedroom. Finally I would awake, vomit and then be at peace. Eventually, I pretty much grew out of my migraines, but I'll never forget the nightmares. I often wonder what a dream analysis would say they really meant.
